The Beginning

Sofia started to perform at the tender age of 5 where she wrote her first song and performed it to her family. From then on she was always involved in school plays, the choir, and the recorder club!

Study

She eventually went on to study A level Theatre studies, and completing a BA(hons)degree in Music and performing arts.

Television

Her television career started when she was spotted in 2000, at a Zee TV Carnival, in Wembley Stadium, and was asked to audition for a youth based, Indian TV show called, "Sorted". She got the job and the show became a cult hit, attracting millions of viewers world wide every week. She became a household name amongst the asian community, interviewing their favorite stars, including, Colin Farrell, Aishwariya Rai, Shah Ruck Khan and Anil Kapoor (Slumdog Millionaire) to name a few. This lead to various other presenting roles, for the BBC, MTV international and Sky channels.

Bollywood Star

In 2004, Sofia auditioned for Channel 4's "Bollywood Star", a show to find the next big Bollywood talent from the UK. She was flown to Mumbai, and was trained by the top acting and stunt coaches, and went on to be one of the final four in the show.

Range of TV Shows

Since then she has performed in many TV shows including, Jonathan Creek (BBC) "Footballers Wives Extra Time, (ITV2), Waterloo Road, (BBC), and Absolute Power. (BBC) She has also appeared in many major television commercials and acted in films, where she has worked with Golden Globe winner, Malcolm Mc Dowell (Clock work Orange),
as well as Ameet
Chana (Bend it
Like Beckham), Stephen Fry (V for Vendetta) and many more. She aslo had a lead role in MTV's BAFTA award winning "Fyr TV", which was aired all around the world and translated into over 5 different languages.

The Unforgettable


Sofia then auditioned for a lead role in Bollwood produced, British film "The Unforgettable". She won the lead role. Sofia was really excited about the script, and starred opposite actor Raji James. (East is East, Nina's Heavenly Delights, Provoked). This premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

Diary of a Butterfly

Sofia has been shooting her first Bollywood film, in a lead role. The film is set for release early 2011

Sofia has since signed 2 lead roles in 2 other Bollywood films.
